I ran across a instagram post "Being Natural is for broke bitches". Yes I am natural and NO I'm not a broke bitch. Who ever created that post 1. is very ignorant and 2. never brought a shea moisture, carols daughter, or Camilla Rose, etc products! Nothing comes cheap, especially if you really are into taking care of your hair. Having natural hair or weave won't matter. I roughly did some comparing and in MY opinion, Natural woman spend more money. When someone isn't natural and sporting a weave they may spend, lets say the minimum of 300.00 dollars (include hair and installation). Someone who is natural can spend easily 50-80.00 dollars in one trip to the hair supply store, (y'all know that beauty supply store be taxing the hell outta us!).
The woman who receives the weave installation will wear her weave for a 3-6month period and barely take care of their real hair, which includes washing, conditioning, deep conditioning, oiling their scalp, etc., so they have more products to spare. The woman who is natural may wash her hair every other week, so about twice a week, including conditioning, deep conditioning, oiling their scalp, etc. The weaved woman spent 300.00 dollars for a possible maximum of a half of a year (6 months) and the natural hair woman, with the use of their products every two weeks , is spending more money to keep up with their products for continued health and styling.
NOW i loved my weaves and wigs too, I was about that life. It can be very costly from the type of hair, length and color, then to get it installed for yourself. Im natural now, have been for a 1 year and half, and i can definitely say that I've spent more being natural. Products run out quickly because of the density, hair texture and DEFINITELY length of our hair. So frequent purchasing does happen. I am not complaining about the products that us natural women use. When the products are doing exactly what it says on the bottle and giving you that bounce to ounce that you love when you whip out them twist outs, flat twist , or perm rod sets, you support the company for supporting your hair! What US as women need to be focused on is to refrain from calling other women bitches than counting other people pockets. Whether if you rocking that brazilian or that natural hair , Get Yo Life! BECOME THE SUN!
